Mindful Flow

Carolyn Staple, RMT

As far back as I can remember, as a child I used to sit and massage my nana's shoulders, neck and head after dinner. She would always say I had magic in my hands and that I should be a massage therapist someday. During my years working as a flight attendant in the 90's my flight crew would always come to me if they had aches that needed attention. I remember being on tour with my theater group and I set up times for everyone in the cast to come for a relaxing massage before our opening night that day. In 2000 I was in school doing an Adventure Tourism diploma. It wasn't long before my classmates knew me as the one to go to when their bodies were sore from all the kayaking, backpacking, skiing and sleeping on the ground for days at a time. I've always had the ability, inclination and intuition to lay my hands on a body, feel where the blockages are and mindfully work them to flow free. It was only a matter of time before my path led me to study and learn more about massage therapy and to become licensed to practice professionally. My nana was right, and she lived long enough to see it happen, being 94yrs old at my graduation.

I became a Registered Massage Therapist in 2016, graduating with honours from the Massage Therapy program at Academy Canada Career College. I’m an active member of the Newfoundland and Labrador Massage Therapy Association (NLMTA) and the College of Massage Therapists of Newfoundland and Labrador (CMTNL).  I’ve been on the board of directors for the NLMTA since 2016, chairing the Outreach and Public Relations Committee.

Now, my knowledge of anatomy, physiology, pathology, kinesiology, hydrotherapy & massage techniques gained through my studies, combined with my natural palpation skills and my personal belief system of resonating with source energy, frequency and vibration to bring about alignment, I am in an ideal place to assist others in their journey to optimal health and well-being.

I strive every day to live my life and practice my profession with a Mindful Flow, and to instill the same in my clients so they may benefit from being more attuned to the needs of their body, mind and spirit.
